Multielement elemental analysis for aviation and aerospace
Routine oil analysis has been a standard practice for aircraft engines and other airborne oil-wetted systems, such as hydraulic systems and gear boxes. While military organizations are perhaps the number one users of oil analysis, commercial aviation too has a long history of oil analysis as part of their preventive maintenance programs. Many major airlines around the world do their own oil analysis, but independent commercial oil laboratories are often employed by smaller or regional airlines. General aviation also uses oil analysis to look for contamination or the excessive presence of wear metals.
